Welcome to the very first Spatium Stories Blog post!
This first blog post is a very special one.
I have come to a realization about this project. A bitter-sweet one.
I think I started Spatium too early.
And that’s ok. In fact, I’d argue it was necessary.
Let me explain what I mean. I have released 2 stories published on Cloutpub, and I have two of the first Character NFTs ready to mint. However, I got those ready right when crypto and NFTs hit this harsh winter weather.
I think I got too excited about the project and thought people would jump at any chance to be part of a fun and unique NFT project.
I guess I was wrong. Or just had unlucky timing.
But here’s the thing. That’s ok. In fact, it is a great sign.
Why?
Because despite this setback, I’m more excited than ever about the Spatium Stories project! I still feel inspired and encouraged, rather than discouraged.
This viewpoint should be an encouragement to anyone that is following this project. It means I’m not going anywhere, and neither should you :)
However, I am also a realist. I recognize that in the market right now, a brand new NFT project may not do super hot. This is why I have decided to make some changes to the roadmap. I’m not removing things, but just rearranging the timing.
If you haven’t looked at the roadmap yet, then don’t worry about it. It will be updated. The broad scope of the Spatium roadmap was to initiate the project with a fun NFT project. This NFT project would contain monthly short stories, character NFTs, and eventually some fun and unique generative/merge series.
After all of that was done, I assumed NFTs would be in a good space on DeSo and I’d have a bigger following to unleash the next phase of the Spatium project. However, due to the market, I’ve decided to wait on the NFT project.
So where does that leave us?
Well, that leaves us with phase 2.
What is phase 2?
The Spatium Stories Platform.
I was planning to roll this out after the initial NFT project, but now I’ve decided I will release the platform first!
Once the platform is out, then I’ll start the NFT project, which means I can actually use the platform to do the NFTs on!
But what is the platform exactly?
The short answer is that it is a platform designed to mint, trade, sell, and read NFT books.
For authors, it will give you a one-stop-shop to sell your books as NFTs in this new crazy web3 world. You will (eventually) have the chance to sell them across multiple chains with the click of a button! No more trying to figure techy things out; just write your story and publish it to the world.
For readers, it will give you a one-stop-shop to buy, trade, and (eventually) stake your books! You can finally own a digital book in the same way you can own a physical book. This can open up dozens of other opportunities and apps for people to build. Perhaps you can open up a used digital book store and break into a market worth over $1 billion. Who knows!
Now for the real question: why is any of this important, who cares, and what problems does this solve?
To answer that question (or questions) will take a lot more than an introduction blog post.
That’s why I want to introduce you to the Spatium Stories Blog.
I will be posting on here a couple of times a month. Posts will cover current book markets, pains of authors, some behind-the-scenes interviews with actual authors, and of course any and all updates about the upcoming Spatium Platform!
Though the project has had a rocky start, I’ve learned a ton, I’ve been fired up, and I will keep pushing. If anything, this proves that my passion for this project is real!
Let’s take a pause together.
